Jack's Latest Stats

Jack had a great visit for his 2 month check-up!  He is just perfect...75th percentile for height, 50th percentile for weight!  He is following in the steps of Wade, favoring his right side and turning his head in that direction most of the time.  Not uncommon for infants...we just have to continue to show him that he can move his head to the left, do exercises to strengthen the other side and it will correct itself on its own! Thank goodness for Todd. He stayed in the room while Jack received his shots and I waited in the hallway, pacing back and forth the whole time. He actually did really well and only cried for a total of about 15 seconds...pretty good for 3 shots! Now Jack on the other hand, didn't make a peep..hahaha. Funny Funny. Jack was quite the trooper and left the Dr.'s office with a smile!

Stat’s compared to his big bro’s:
                      Birth Weight/ Height                              2 mo. Weight/ Height
Brody            6 lbs 6 ozs/ 19 inches                             11 lbs 3 ozs/ 22 ¼ inches
Wade             5 lbs 5 ozs / 19 inches                            8 lbs 6 ozs/ 21 inches
Jack               7 lbs 0 ozs/ 20 ½ inches                         11 lbs 8 ozs/ 23 ½ inches

Visits with friends!

This past weekend, we tried to remain at home the entire time…again…to reinforce the potty training, but did manage to get out for just a bit!
We headed to the park late Sunday morning to play baseball, run the bases and climb the monkey bars. Check out my 3 smilin' boys!!
Photobucket

Wade, you are a down right daredevil! Nothing seems to scare you and you do not think twice about jumping off of a swingset or dangling from the monkey bars. B-man, you are more reserved when it comes to taking risks and each and every move seems to be calculated and well thought out. Hopefully the two of you will stick together and your little personalities combined will guide you guys through any obstacle life throws at you!

The littlest man, sweet Jack got in some playtime with his new buddies, Rylee Deal and Carsen Dasinger! He was so thrilled to meet Carsen that he fell asleep slouched over on him and he somehow manages to always make poor Rylee cry…hehehe. Just kidding Jack! So fun to get teeny, tiny babies together!

Odd's and End's:
Enjoying the crazy hats that Aunt Lowie sent to us!

And a few sweet pictures of Jack, just because:

Jack will be 2 months old tomorrow! He is already in size 1-2 diapers and 3 month clothing! He will sleep 6-8 hour stretches most nights and has the sweetest, most laid back disposition. He is smiling and cooing all of the time and has even started to giggle! We go for his 2 month check up tomorrow, and that, in turn, means his two month shots. Not excited.........His latest stats will be on the next blog post!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Happy Birthday to you....
Happy Birthday to you!!
Happy Birthday dear Dadddyyyyy...
Happy 39th Birthday to you!!

We love you so much Daddy!!

We made Todd breakfast in bed, celebrated at the office and ended the day with a visit from Grammie and Pop's, who cooked steaks and asparagus and brought the most yummy ice cream cake! Happy Birthday to the man who Brody and Wade (and me!!) think hung the moon!!

We are finally potty trained!!

Well…the day has finally come…the boys said GOODBYE to their diapers!! We finally had two free weekends, back to back, and decided to bite the bullet and do the weekend potty training boot camp. After lots and lots of rewards and stickers and praises, the boys are going potty all by themselves, with reminders throughout the day, but still…We started off by telling the boys Friday night that in the morning, we were no longer going to wear diapers, but instead, big boy underwear! They were so excited…So, when they woke up, off came the diapers and into the garbage they went. We made a huge deal out of this…

Then, after every time they went potty or attempted to go potty, they were able to reach inside the special grab bag a pull out a surprise! We stocked it with matchbox cars, fruit roll-ups, pringles, oreos, fruit snacks, bouncy balls, monster trucks, M-n-M’s, etc…They caught on very quickly and whenever they wanted a prize, they would go sit on the potty and 98% of the time they would go…so it worked! After nap, we had run out of the grab bag items and moved on to stickers and praise. It was pretty intense for me and Todd. Asking 2 toddlers every 5 minutes if they had to go pee-pee or poo-poo and NOT LEAVING the house can make one stir crazy, but we did it and they are potty trained! The first day back at school was a little rough in the accident department, but since then, we have very minimal accidents and are enjoying not changing almost 3 year olds diapers!! WOOOOHOOO! I honestly thought this day would never come!

We actually picked the perfect weekend to start, as it rained the entire time… so outside we went…

Jack's first play date!!

We visited sweet baby Rylee Deal yesterday! Hopefully these two will grow up to be the best of buds! The next generation of Harrell and Deal...Lord help us all....hehehe

Rylee 3 weeks old, but born 7 weeks early! She is doing perfectly and is already at home! Jack 6 weeks old. I think at one point they were sucking on each others cheeks!

Pure Happiness

You, my little Baby J, take my breath away. Your little fingers grasping mine...feeling your chest move up and down as you are completely content in my arms…not fully knowing quite where you end and I begin. You are pure and unspoiled and I cannot believe Daddy and I made something so beautiful.

And you two. The ‘almost’ 3 years you both have been in our lives, have changed me for forever. Nothing else matters anymore but the health and happiness and well being of my boys. My first-borns…you boys opened a place in my heart that I never knew existed. I still find myself staring at you both, in complete awe and amazement that you are mine.

Happy 4th of July 2011!

This was probably my most favorite July 4th to date...pretty "All-American" text book if you ask me! Family, sun, pool, night time swims, fireworks...well-sort of, shrimp boils, sunscreen, goggles, flags, ice cream...we had a blast! Just like many of the past years, we continued the tradition with our newest family member and headed over to Grammie and Pop's house to celebrate our Nation's Independence...

Except this year...the boys took on the pool in full force! (Last year, we were not able to enjoy swimming because Wade had his tubes/adenoid surgery and we thought it would be best to try and keep his little ears from being submergd in the pool water for as long as possible.) Having a newborn has led me to keep putting off swim lessons...much to my dismay...so to see them flourish like they did made my heart sing! They were hesitant for about all of 30 seconds. By the end of the weekend, they were jumping off of the edge, holding on to the edge and scooting the entire circumference of the pool, going under water and holding their breath, letting Pop's and Daddy take them down to the bottom of the deep end to touch the ground, praticed their kicking and blowing bubbles...we were so proud! We are going to try and head over for the next few weekends so we can teach them to swim on our own! Wish us luck...

When we were not in the pool, we were either napping, eating or playing in the sprinkler!
Photobucket

Sweet boy at 5 weeks old...enjoying the breeze coming off of the water and listening to his brothers play. Don't worry Jack, you will be able to join them next year!!
Photobucket

The night before the 4th, we let the boys do some night swimming and watch fireworks that people were setting off on the beach.

On Monday, the actual July 4th, you guessed it...we played in the pool ALL DAY LONG. Their neighborhood puts on a HUGE celebration with tons of kids and the biggest shrimp boil known to man! These are the only pics I took the entire day...hahaha. Notice the 2 grumps in the picture? That was the result of waking up children that had been asleep for over 3 1/2 hours for their afternoon nap!
Photobucket

Something cute to leave you with. On Sunday, the boys and I ran to Wal-Mart to get a few things, and included in our purchase were two pairs of toddler goggles, both for a whole $1.50. I knew they would not keep the water out the minute they put them on, but Brody did not care. The boy literally ate, slept and played in them for 48 hours. Melt. My. Heart. You can imagine the laughter, smiles and giggles that this brought to all of us...Photobucket

And get this...the only place he did not wear them was in the water.......

Happy 4th to everybody! Happy 1st Anniverary to Nana and Gator and welcome to the world Rylee Marae Deal (6/16/2011) and Carsen Haywood Dasinger (7/4/2011)!
