Me and Kelly, Grand Canyon, circa 2001, before husbands and kiddos...
Right before their soccer game last weekend, Wade and Brody were spinning around in circles in the family room, trying to make themselves dizzy. Well, it worked. Wade tripped over the dog bed and hit his eye socket on the corner of the window frame. Yeeouch. It could have been very serious, so I am thankful he only ended up with a shiner. My kiddos and their noggins.
Then, we met up with Grammie, Mimi, Nana and Gator at the soccer fields and cheered on The Zoo Crew for their second game! Their little team is looking better and better each week. Brody loves to play defense and is very involved in every aspect of the game, from start to finish. Wade, well, he starts out strong, but seems to lose interest about half way through. He kind of starts day dreaming and even walked off of the field to tell me he was hungry. Coach Phillip was able to coax him back on the field and he finished this weeks game with his teammates!
Getting all warmed up:
Playing offense and defense...
Great game kids!!
After the soccer game, we went back home and enjoyed popsicles and broke out the slip-n-slide!
While B-man really got into the soccer game, Wade REALLY got into the slip-n-slide. Sweet boy could have done this all day long!
Jack giggled and squealed the whole time...he is going to love all of the water activities this summer!
And then, all of the sudden, Todd came flying around the corner and flew down the thing...the boys got the biggest kick out of it!
With the warmer weather sticking around, we are spending so much more time outside. Even enjoying dinner and snacks outside, too...
Grammie and Mimi spent the Saturday night with us. After the kiddos were bathed and Jack was down, Todd and I snuck out for a few hours to grab a quick bite of sushi and some frozen yogurt and uninterrupted adult conversation. It was a nice treat...thank you!!
Later Sunday evening, Jack and I were out for our daily walk, when I stumbled upon a lost dog. Oh, the poor dog was so scared. He was panting and soaking wet. But, you could tell he was well taken care of, friendly and sweet. His tail was wagging and he was whimpering. I happened to have one of the kids jackets in the bottom of the stroller, so I made a leash out of it and brought him home. To make a long story short, a lady with RUFF rescue ended up locating the owners by the little bit of information he had on his dog collar...it was all information from their previous address in NC. We were able to reunite Zorro with his family within 24 hours. Did mah heart good and taught the boys a lesson too!
Jack has been home this whole week with the sickies...another respiratory virus, RSV. Yuck. Besides wheezing and coughing, he remains in good spirits. Hasn't stopped him from climbing on the dining room table, that's for sure :)
And a few school pics of B and W this week:
Think Wade was tired?? :)
B-man, already a ladies man...
Hope everyone is gearing up for a wonderful weekend!
