Easy Like Sunday Mornin'

Jack Jack used to be easy. Still is, I guess, but Lawdy, he keeps us on our toes! Todd and I have come to the conclusion that when B and W were his age, we were able to confine them to one area...set up barriers in the family room, or keep them in the playroom, or shut the kitchen door...you get the point. But J?? He has free reign...to the whole house! Which means he has free reign to get into everything and anything. He is normally my shadow, but when I look down and notice he is not there...I find his in various rooms/situations throughout the house.

Bathroom...Dipping his play kitchen spoon and fork in toilet and the minute I come around the corner, he throws the spoon so fast and immediately dives into the toilet...

Kitchen...big brothers that leave the pantry door open...and little bit, literally runs straight toward the open/slightly cracked door. I find him rustling through the kids snacks and the minute he sees me, he starts grabbing anything and everything and throwing it on the ground/over his head...

Bedroom...sneaking into anyone's bedroom and literally emptying out the drawers before I even notice he is no longer my shadow...and when he sees me, grabbing as much as he can and throwing it on the ground/over his head...

Dog Crate...we prefer that he does not spend his free time in the dog crate...kinda goes without saying...but, on que, he darts toward it the minute we are not looking and scoots himself to the very back of the crate and giggles...

But................alas, he continues to woo me.

One little morning ritual that will eventually fade into him coming to me, instead of me coming to him...When I walk in to get him in the morning, he peeks his little sleepy eyes at me, gingerly hands me each and every item out of his crib, lifts his chubby hands to be picked up and places his warm head on my shoulder...be still my heart.

At 14 months, he prefers my lap to any toy and could spend hours playing "Where's Jack??" Just call me a sucker. This Mommy thing has me whipped and head over heels in love.

And how could you not be into everything when you are trying to keep up with these two??

Water Logged!

Now that we are a cast free family, we have remained water logged! A quick membership to the pool down the road and we have ourselves entertained for the next few months. These boys will know how to swim by the end of the summer. Period!

Grammie even joined in on the fun! Photobucket

Dog days of summer!

Grammie came and got me, told me to get my camera, as I would not want to miss this... Littlest punkin' just went over and sat in the dog bowl! Why not strip him down and let him have fun? We were DYING laughing!!!!! (I think it was still 90+ degrees outside and these pics were taken at dusk...)

He decided to mow while he was at it... Photobucket

(Not much cuter than a naked, Jack hiney!)

Stairs

The stairs coming out of the back door in our rental house were skinny and un-safe, not only for the boys, but for the dogs as well. Gator delivered on his promise, to build us "safe steps", and the whole family joined in. The boys were in awe...Thank you so much Gator!!!

Photobucket

And while Gator was building, Todd was mowing...with a few helpers!! Todd will cherish these pictures one day, when the boys are all grown and moved out!

The grass up here in the Tucky is very strange. It grows in patches and sprouts these huge weed (Pensacola Bahia grass) looking things after days of a fresh mow. Todd says the "sprouts" remind him of growing up and chewing on them while he was pitching!

Sponges

Their eagerness to learn these days, blows me away. Photobucket Photobucket

The wind in our hair...

The Boy's loved being on a boat. Brody was squealing the entire time, Wade had a smile plastered across his face and once JackJack got used to the feeling of a cold and wet life jacket, he enjoyed it as well!

Bedtime

JackJack has set his own bedtime since birth. He lets us know when he is ready, and it normally hits him all at once...smiling 1 minute and the very next minute, he is reaching to be picked up and starts to cry. With out fail, each and every night, at 6:55p, he begins the whine and starts saying "Nigh Nigh" and heads to his bedroom. He surrounds himself with 3 paci's and doesn't utter another word. Sweet angel...

The cast is off!!

After the visiting the ER, an appointment at Orthopedic and Associates, a visit to Nemour's, surgery with pins, followed by many, more visits to Nemour's...the filthy, dull orange cast was removed after wearing it for a full 10 weeks!! To say we are all thrilled is the under statement of the year. I almost cried happy tears...months of NO WATER play for an almost 4 year old is tough. He itched and cried and moped...But he also took the challenges in stride, smiled the majority of the time and we are extremely proud of our little man. What a trooper!!! Photobucket
And we celebrated by spending hours running through sprinklers...give a boy water = instant happiness!

And this is what happens when a certain little boy doesn't take a nap. This was at 7p in his playroom!

Memory

My memory seems to become more and more foggy each minute.  I just cannot hang on to the little details like I used to, so why not type away, so that one day, I will be able to enjoy these little tidbits of our boys, like it were yesterday!

Wade...you totally got us.  Dooped us.  Not only Mom and Dad, but Nana, too.  The night before you were supposed to get your cast off, you started telling us that your leg hurt.  You began to limp and acted as if it hurt you to walk.  We chalked it up to playing to rough or to pulling a groin muscle.  The next morning, you continued with the limp and acted like you could not walk AT ALL.  Todd and I began discussing back and forth just what we were going to do, as all 3 of you boys were supposed to go to school, Todd and I to work and then we were going to pick you and Brody up early and head over to Nemour's for the big un-casting.  But here you were, not able to walk, wanting to be carried everywhere... So, we quickly called Nana...made arrangements for you to hang out with her until it was time for your appointment and dropped Jack and Brody off at school.  You continued with the leg pain and Nana even called me to make sure that I had given you Tylenol or Motrin, ya know, to ease the pain.  So I ran out, bought Motrin, went to Nana's, gave it to you and headed back to work.  You continued limping, into the hospital, up the elevator, onto the table in the casting room, etc...as soon as they removed your cast and put on your new one, you hopped off the table and skipped out of the room. Daddy and I looked at each other, asked you how your leg was feeling, and you answered, smiling, "It feels fine."  You then turned the other way and ran off to catch up with Brody. We never heard another complaint about the leg again.  Guess you just wanted extra attention, because you were afraid of the big cast removal.  Lesson learned...Do not tell you about upcoming cast appointments until we are on our way.  And hey, good acting Wade.

Jack:  On our first vacation, you managed to get injured almost every day.  You are definitely part of this family, as all of your injuries were to your face, head and lips.  Every injury that your big brothers sustained from birth until the broken elbow was always to the head/forehead (Wade) and the mouth/lips (Brody).  So you followed tradition the only way you know how, and managed to fall down the front porch steps, hitting your eye and cheek, tripped and fell into the stone fireplace, bruising your cheek and fell into a small wastebasket, right on your little mouth and gums and bled everywhere.  Darn near broke my heart...but you are tough, brushed all of the boo boo's away and went right along, chasing your big brothers.

Brody:  Oh BB.  You crack me up...all of the time.  Your facial expressions and gestures just have a way of making me chuckle.  So, while we were at the Aquarium, you and Wade saw a little boy with this little light up toy.  You pressed the button, and 4 different ropes lit up and spun around, with little colorful lights on the end.  You guys were so excited, when at the end of our day, we stopped in the gift shop and bought one for each of you.  You immediately shrieked with joy and kept the button pressed for the entire ride back to the mountains.  You drug it around with you everywhere...so proud and excited to have your new toy!  As the hours passed, your little toy kept missing parts, stopped spinning and eventually stopped lighting up at all.  As we were all sitting around the fire that night, Daddy and I were watching you out of the corner of our eyes, and you were sitting, with your head in your hands, pouting, because your little toy stopped working...and you were eyeing Wade's, because his toy looked brand new.  This is just par for the course for you B-man.  You play with things rough and tough, while Wade's toys generally stay in perfect condition.  I do not think I will ever forget your sweet little face and sad puppy eyes that night...Your face really tells the story of who you are.  If you are happy, your entire face lights up and erupts in a smile...and if you are sad or upset, man, it breaks my heart.  You are a sensitive little guy and I hope this never changes.  To witness the innocence of "the life of a toy" in your eyes really grounds me and makes me remember just how young and innocent you 3 boys are.

Thank you, to the 3 little guys, who help Daddy and I live a full, but simple life.
