15 months!

At, 15 months, JDH...

  • Falls asleep easily & wakes up happy
  • Still loves the paci (calls it a nuh-nee)
  • Enjoys books, playing with trucks, being outside and wearing hats
  • Favorite food is string cheese
  • Physically very rough & loves to test his boundaries, constantly!
  • Great mimicker, copying things that others do...
  • Gives high fives, blows kisses and loves peek-a-boo and where's Jack?
  • Says bye, hi, more, up, down, no, mama, dada, book, yo yo, nuh-nee, eat, nose, eye, ear, nice, night night and his newest word, WHOA!

(He has his 15 month appointment next Wednesday, so will post his stats then!)

I, could literally, eat this child up.  My beautiful baby...

Double Red Flags

We dodged a bullet and barely felt any of the effects of TS/Hurricane Issac...made for some awesome sight seeing though! (In the first 48 hours, we were directly in his path) Check out how the salty air made Jack's hair curl right up!

The beaches were more packed than on a normal sunny day. I think once everybody realized the storm was not really going to effect our area, everybody headed to the beach to check out the Gulf. It was a spectacular sight for sure!

Pretty Funny B

The words that come flyin' out of B's mouth are legendary. I don't know why, but he is so darn funny. Maybe it's his deep, hoarse sounding little voice, or his facial expressions that accompany that voice...but nonetheless, he keeps me laughing. And everybody around him.
Nana had both of the big boys at Publix with her the other day, and as they were walking down an aisle, Brody looks up at Nana, "Why are we in this lane?" and she shows him her list and says, "I need wasabi." He looks at her, dead pan serious, "There are no wasabi's in Publix Nana. There are no wasabi's."

Every darn commercial that comes on, he shreiks and screams...yes, screams, "Mom!! Dad!! Come here.....QUICK!!!!! I just. have. to. have. this!!! HURRY!!!!" The first ten times, we would come a runnin', wondering what all the fuss was about...we quickly learned the power of advertising with children...

B: "Daddy, will you get me a fruit snack? Pretty Please??" as he is cocking his head to the side and giving that sh*t eating grin...
T: "No sir, we are about to eat dinner."
B: "I love you so, so, so much and I will give you a hug? Come on, for me?"

Random Sunday

We decided to head out on a little adventure this Sunday, as we were all getting cabin fever. Headed to a spring in DeFuniak, called Morrison Springs. Supposed to be picturesque...clear, aqua waters...breathtaking. A spring where people come from all over to explore and scuba dive... This is what we were expecting:

Instead, it was a yucky, murky brown from all of the recent rain. It looked like an old, dingy river. We stayed for a whole 10 minutes...even though the drive was at least 45 minutes to get there. Oh well, got us out of the house and no we know :)

Visit from Mimi and Grammie!

We were thrilled to be able to spend time with Mimi, the boys Great Grandmother from Palm Harbor, while she was in town visiting Grammie!

She told lots of stories...received many hugs and kisses and even played games with the boys! We love you Mimi and cannot wait until next time...

We have swimmers!

Our boys ALL love the water...and for this, I beam with with pride, as I was a swimmer for my entire childhood and into high school!

B-man is our independent swimmer, always diving for his rings or sticks. He really shows no fear for the water, but respects it at the same time. He can float and hold his breath for a very long time! His kicks are strong and we are working on the freestyle stroke daily...

Photobucket

Wade started off terrified to even venture off of the stairs. Even though he wore his floaties, he was honest to goodness scared to death. Ever since the cast came off, he has been way more cautious and weary of anything new. Nana and Gator gave them the dive sticks and the rings, and once we explained to him that he could not possibly dive down to get the toys with his floaties on, he took them off and never looked back! He has an amazing stroke, and as long as he can "push off", he continues to go longer distances each day!

And, last but not least, sweet baby J absolutely loves the pool! He is under the water more than out! Todd and I count, "1....2....3..." and we swoop him under the water, give him a little push and he "swims" to the other parent, anxiously waiting for him to appear...and without fail, he comes up a smilin'!

What a great way to spend the hot and muggy summer days!

1st Dental visit!

I honestly had no idea how Brody and Wade would do with their first teeth cleaning experience...but, as usual, they surprised me and both hopped right up in the chair! I am a proud Momma to report they have pearly whites, with no cavities!

Way to go Harrell Boys!
When I told them that they would be able to pick a prize from the treasure chest after the cleaning, Brody's hand shot up, declaring he was going to first, as he wanted to check out that treasure chest...Little dude loves a good bribe!

Photobucket

Without missing a beat, Wade jumped right on up and sported the Batman glasses too!

Photobucket
They both chose a red toothbrush, spent 10 minutes picking out the right toy from the chest and beamed with pride as they flashed their pearly whites!

August 13th

August 13th, Monday, was their actual birthday...and we surprised them with a trip to Big Kahuna's! We led them to believe they were going to school...had them get dressed and go through our normal school day routine, except when we pulled in for drop off time. And only walked Jack Jack inside...they were so excited when we told them!! Brody started shrieking and Wade got his silly old grin...and we were off!

The day was pure bliss. Seriously, one of my top 3 moments with my boys!

As we were leaving the park, Brody looks up at me, with a Popsicle stained grin, and says, "Mom, seriously, this was the best. day. Ever!!!!"

Boys turn 4!

The boys 4th birthday weekend was a success! We started off with a visit from Nana on Saturday...filled with presents and a trip(between storms) to the pool! Their new dive sticks and pool rings had them diving to the bottom of the pool without their floaties in no time!!!

Photobucket

The next morning, we decorated our little home for all of the family that came to celebrate their birthday!
Photobucket

They were overwhelmed by all of their presents...
Photobucket

Loved having their own cakes......Check out our "typical" family pic...ha!
Photobucket

And enjoyed spending time outside with their cousins! This was the first pretty day in over a month!!

The Harrell Cousins! Poor Ensley kept sliding off of Caden...hehehe!
Photobucket
Thank you to everybody that came over to help celebrate their 4th birthday...they enjoyed the special attention tremendously!! Happy 4th Birthday to our sweet, spunky, smart, full of energy boys...Brody Lee and Wade Aubrey!

Quick visit from Aunt Allie and the kiddos!

Allie loaded up the kiddos and headed over for a quick visit a few weekends ago...always nice to get the cousins together! I think these are the only 2 pics I took the whole visit.

Can you believe all of the hair sweet Ensley already has? Photobucket

Sick of the rain!

I think, last week, we hit a total of 35 days with consecutive rain showers and storms. Living in Florida, we are used to the every afternoon 30 minute storm that leaves as quickly as it comes on...but these past 35 days have been torrential downpours, flood warnings and lightning advisories. Enough to make you get cabin fever when you have 3 little ones who are used to always being outside.
Thank God for board games, art supplies, hide n' seek and Leap Pads...

Tiny Dancer

JDH absolutely loves to dance. The minute he hears any beat or rhythm coming out of the radio/tv...even the Leap Pad, he starts shaking his groove thing. And his little arms and hands start flailing around...causing everyone around him to burst out in laughter. He is the cutest tiny dancer...!
